LCRF launches outdoor awareness campaign and website
In August, LCRF launched our very first outdoor patient education campaign to help raise awareness about lung cancer. If you live in Chicago or Philadelphia you may have seen our messaging on highway billboards, taxi tops, and bus and rail posters! As part of this campaign, LCRF launched a website,, which contains more information about lung cancer, our patient resources, LCRF, and how to get involved.

World Conference on Lung Cancer highlights
Many investigators, including those you have supported through the LCRF grant program, presented at this year’s IASLC 20th World Conference on Lung Cancer in Barcelona. Discussions highlighted the importance of lung cancer screening, biomarker testing, and advocating for more lung cancer research funding.
FDA approves targeted therapy
On August 15, 2019, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved targeted therapy drug entrectinib (Rozlytrek) for treating either patients with NTRK+ solid tumors or ROS1+ patients with metastatic NSCLC.
Five Boro Bike Tour with LCRF
LCRF is considering becoming a charity partner for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour on May 3, 2020. Bike through every borough of New York City on streets totally free of cars! We need 10 cyclists to form a team.
Sisters share why they raise funds for lung cancer research
Kortni and Tiffany, sisters who formed the Chicago Lung Run's Team DeMuffy, explain why funding lung cancer research is so important to them. Focusing on that purpose has mobilized their team and helped them through personal loss.

TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 3! A special welcome to new team members Dr. Kwok-Kin Wong from NYU Langone and Ben Paul from northern California.

Penn Conference brings hundreds together
In collaboration with Penn Medicine, LCRF participated in the 11th Annual Focus on Lung Cancer Conference in Philadelphia last month. Hundreds of lung cancer patients and caregivers were in attendance for the conference, which focused on advancements in lung cancer research and the latest available treatments. We look forward to seeing many of you again next year!
