Application process open for 2022 lung cancer research grants
|
LCRF is accepting applications for its 2022 slate of research grants. This year, five tracks are available to fund innovative projects across a variety of diverse topics and to support the careers of talented scientists: LCRF Pilot Grants, LCRF Research Grants on Oncogenic Drivers in Lung Cancer, the LCRF ALK Positive Research Grant, the LCRF Research Grant on Early Detection and Pre-Neoplasia in Lung Cancer, and the LCRF Minority Career Development Award (CDA) in Lung Cancer. |

Ask Congress to increase funding for lung cancer research
|
LCRF is one of 55 groups urging Congress to allocate $60 million to the Lung Cancer Research Program in the 2023 Department of Defense appropriations bill. Ask your Senators to sign the "Dear Colleague" letter before the deadline of May 12. |

In-person walks are back! Four locations (Kansas City, New York, Chicago, and Jersey Shore) will host Free to Breathe Walks this fall, but no one is being left out. Our brand new Free to Breathe Anywhere Walk has an official date of October 22 but can be done any time, anywhere! We also have some exciting opportunities for partner events. Inaugural Evening of Innovation gala September 28
|
Another big event will be taking place in person this fall a night where we will celebrate scientific discovery, honor a luminary in the field, and raise money for much needed lung cancer research. Our 2002 gala will honor Dr. Brendon M. Stiles, who has served LCRF in several capacities while making his mark as a thoracic surgeon and researcher. The gala will be held at New York City's Metropolitan Club.

Coping with Loss & Honoring Loved Ones

LCRF is partnering with CancerCare to create a space where we can celebrate loved ones lost and discuss the bereavement journey. Christine Calafiore, MSW, LSW will lead the livestream on May 25 at 12 PM ET, and attendees will be given time to share their story and honor their loved ones. |
