New lung cancer study with 23andMe |
Genetic health company 23andMe has joined LCRF and 20 lung cancer organizations on a new study to help advance lung cancer research. The study's goal is to build a comprehensive, open-source database of heritable genetics and patient-reported data in lung cancer. Data will be made available to approved researchers, nonprofits, and institutions at no cost. |

Findings presented at ASCO meeting |
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in June included big news in the lung cancer arena. The results of three lung cancer trials LAURA, ADRIATIC, and REACH PC – were among the top five presentations at the plenary session; promising outcomes from the CROWN trial also were highlighted. LCRF's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Antoinette Wozniak, explained what the findings could mean for patients in our Science Made Simple series. LCRF's science team also talked about ASCO in a recent video update. |

Research Advocate group expands |
LCRF has nearly doubled its Research Advocate group, which includes patients, survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates tasked with helping determine what research the organization funds. Seven new members bring the group to a total 16 volunteers committed to identifying and funding innovative lung cancer research. |
