Birthday wish lung cancer research fundraiser
Hi, friends. I have had plenty of birthdays but the most special have been the ones shared with my closest friends, one of whom was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018. In lieu of the usual cake, beer and brunch celebration, I would like to use this occasion to help support lung cancer research efforts. Though lung cancer causes more cancer deaths than breast, colorectal and prostate combined, it receives the least amount of research funding. Perhaps it is related to the misconception that lung cancer happens to smokers but my friend was never a smoker, like many others who are diagnosed.
The need is huge and this fundraiser is a drop in the bucket, but it would mean a lot if you made a contribution. She has been a steadfast friend to me and this is my small attempt to honor her role in my life throughout the years. Research is necessary to facilitate better outcomes for metastatic lung cancers. Your donation helps fund lifesaving lung cancer research and education programs focused on making surviving lung cancer the expectation, not the exception.
