I'm running the NYC Half to support Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF)
After years of not running, I decided to try again. The NYC Half seemed a good goal and supporting the Lung Cancer Research Foundation is definitely a good cause.
I was raised by scientists and they spent most of their careers in research. I know how important clinical research is to develop new treatments and find innovative ways to use current therapies.
My mom was diagnosed in 2006 with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. Her access to a clinical trial for a new med allowed us to have 18 months with her we would have missed otherwise.
Your tax-deductible donation helps fund lifesaving lung cancer research and education programs focused on making surviving lung cancer the expectation, not the exception. You have the power to give families like mine hope when a loved one is facing a lung cancer diagnosis.
Any donation you can make helps me get toward my goal as I train for the NYC Half. On previous fundraising efforts, I made mix CDs as a thank you for donors. I feel like an fully outdated technology isn't a great thank you. I would love it if you suggested a song for my training playlist. I'll share the full playlist and use it as motivation for those cold, early morning long runs
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. Together, we can make a difference for each and every person whose life has been touched by lung cancer.
