In loving memory of Deanna, Lake George
December, 2011 we lost our daughter, sister, mom and friend — Deanna. She was 32 years old. Deanna fought lung cancer for 4 years. Deanna was diagnosed after fighting with an irritating cough for several months. Many thought it was asthma or allergies — she didn't fit a profile that would lead the doctors to come to any other conclusion yet she was diagnosed with STAGE IV LUNG CANCER — it had already spread to both lungs. How could a seemingly healthy young woman get Lung Cancer? We don't know. Science can't tell us yet. We need more research and education to find out.
After Deanna's death, we were sad, angry and our grief needed a purpose. We decided as a family that we needed to do something. We needed to turn our grief into something good. We wanted to help others fighting this disease and connect with their families. We started LAKE GEORGE FREE TO BREATHE, a 5k fundraiser in 2013. This is an annual event to help raise the much needed research dollars to help others suffering from Lung Cancer. We believe that these people should have MORE — more time, more memories, more days, more hours, MORE....
Please join us in October to continue this fight, to continue to honor Deanna and to raise those much needed dollars.
TOGETHER WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN LUNG CANCER RESEARCH AND EDUCATION.
