In Memory of My Mother
In June 2011, I lost my mother to lung cancer and since then I have been actively participating in the lung cancer community to spread awareness and raise funding for vital research that can help save lives.
Team Mama Beeb has been a participant with Free to Breathe for 8 years (3 in Philadelphia & 5 in Brooklyn). I had the pleasure and honor to stand as the Event Volunteer Chair for the first five Brooklyn events! While I am no longer the chair of this event, my commitment to this cause remains the same. Through events like these, I am able to focus on the good memories and stay positive for the future. The continued love and support from my family, friends, and even strangers, give me the strength to remember my mother's smile, laughter and passion for living life.
Brookyln’s 6th year will be my daughter’s first event, in memory of her Glam-Ma, whom she is named after.
The Lung Cancer Research Foundation is a partnership of lung cancer survivors, advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry leaders and we are united in the belief that every person with lung cancer deserves a cure. We are dedicated to ensuring surviving lung cancer is the expectation, not the exception. The money raised through LCRF is necessary to fund vital research and patient programs that will save lives. Beyond the camaraderie and fun that comes from participating as a team, by working together, we will raise more funds and impact more lives. Together, we are unstoppable.
Thank you for viewing my page, donating, joining and spreading the word about the Brooklyn Free to Breathe Walk in an effort to help create a world free from lung cancer!
