Help me increase lung cancer survival!
I walk for my son, Brian. I am still amazed when I think back on how strong and positive he was during his 15 month battle. No one should be given the diagnosis of cancer let alone be told in that same moment it is not curable. Age should not be a factor on how our health system determines what tests are appropriate to give when trying to make a diagnosis.
Lung cancer is when abnormal cells divide in an uncontrolled way to form a tumour in the lung. The main symptoms are a cough, breathlessness and weight loss. More times than not by the time you are diagnosed it has already spread.
For decades, lung cancer has remained the top cancer killer in the United States, accounting for about 27 percent of cancer deaths in this country—more than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined.
We hoped for research to come through in time to save Brian. Research is the key, so when someone is faced with this cruel diagnosis, they will have a fighting chance.
I will be participating in the Lung Cancer Research Foundation's Free to Breathe event and raising funds to increase the odds of surviving lung cancer. Please help me reach my fundraising goal and donate today.
Your donation will support the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and its mission to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. Together, we can make a difference for each and every person whose life has been touched by lung cancer.
P.S. Join me on event day, and make your own fundraising page!
