Team DeMuffy: Improving Lung Cancer Outcomes Through Research
“Life is A Special Occasion"
Team DeMuffy and I are once again taking a stand against lung cancer, and we hope you'll stand with us!
Lesley Demaio Duffy was a young Mom of 2, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend when she lost her life to Lung Cancer at the age of 41 in July 2018. Her diagnosis in 2015 was grim, but she was able to extend her life by years because of treatments funded by research specific to her type of Lung Cancer. We continue this fight every year to honor her life and legacy.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 1.5 million people will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year. Lung Cancer remains the deadliest of cancers with the least amount of research funding.
Team DeMuffy has raised thousands to support the Lung Cancer Research Foundation in its' mission to improve outcomes for patients thanks to all of you. Together, we can continue to make a difference to those affected by this devastating disease. We can show the world that it’s time to make surviving lung cancer the expectation, not the exception.
Advances in early detection are critical, as are targeted therapies for mutations, which are incredibly common in Lung Cancer.
This years Free to Breathe event will be held virtually on October 2rd, 2021. On event day, our team will enjoy being "together", but the real reward is that we're raising funds that will save lives. You can help us bring hope to those affected by lung cancer.
