Hello!

Thank you for making it this far and visiting my fundraising page. 

This upcoming November, I have the honor of running the 2022 New York City Marathon while raising critically needed funds for lung cancer research. I am committed to helping the Lung Cancer Research Foundation fight this disease in memory of my Grandfather, Paul Sumner, who passed in 2010 from mesothelioma complications after being exposed to asbestos during his time working on ships in the U.S. Navy. I'm running in honor of him and all those who have been affected by the impacts of lung cancer. 

Despite being the leading cause of cancer mortality, lung cancer receives far less research funding than any other form of cancer. That's why funding from nongovernmental organizations like LCRF is so critical. The LCRF's mission is to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of lung cancer. My mission here, is to bring awareness to the organization's importance and need for funding at an individual level and hope you can join me in a team effort while I prepare to run on behalf of the fight against lung cancer.
