Hi. My name is Jake, and I am running the NYC Marathon with your help. 

In order to do so I need to raise money for a charity of my choice. And I selected Lung Cancer. As some of you know my family and I lost my father Russell to small cell lung cancer in 2018. And I will be raising and running on behalf of him. 

I try to live life after him by thinking, would he do it. I want to live a life where I will eventually and hopefully get to be old, and to be able to look back on these days and say, fuck yeah I did that. This is going to be another thing to look back on and think I’ve done it all.

I try to live my life to its fullest. After all we only get one chance to do it. And with your help I will be able to live my life to its fullest. 

I just want to make him proud. And everything I do, I think of him. If he’d do it or not I take all of my actions good or bad and think of him. I know that this accomplishment with your help will make him look down and say “I can’t believe you did that” proudly of course.

With this donation you do not help my father, but you help others like my father and my family. In situations they did not ask for, with conditions they did not want. With your donation you get to help the people fighting for their lives. You get to hopefully one day stop this terrible cancer that ruins the lives of families, loved ones, and friends.
