Angela Marie Varner was a loving wife, mother and friend. She met her husband, Blake, while attending the University of Georgia - GO DAWGS! They were married in Atlanta on May, 16th 2009 and have two children: Ava (5) and Mason (2). As an avid tennis player her whole life, Angela was a natural athlete, and a natural beauty to boot.
While in the hospital welcoming Mason, what they thought was a bad case of bronchitis, turned into something no one could have suspected. After initial testing, cancerous cells were discovered in a mass near Angela’s lung. Angela was diagnosed on November 12th, 2014, with a rare form of lung cancer called ALK Translocation. After four short months, and a hell of a fight, Angela’s body succumbed to the damage the cancer had caused. Angela passed away on February 17th, 2015.
Ange meant so much to so many people -The easiest way to describe her is to say that she was beautiful. Physically, she was stunning, but more importantly was how she lived her life. You would rarely see her without a smile on her face, she laughed loudly, loved deeply and simply enjoyed life. She was truly an amazing person that positively affected so many lives in a short time.
When Ange was diagnosed with cancer, she spoke often about how she would like to volunteer at cancer clinics and help spread awareness of lung cancer. Unfortunately, she was not able to fulfill that wish throughout her treatments but we are honored to take up this fight in her name. While we all miss Ange every day, we look forward to celebrating her life and spending the day with family and friends to carry on her wish.
