Team Brownie was established in honor of my amazing dad, Steve "Brownie" Brown. Whether you met him once or knew him your entire life- you experienced his genuine impact and influence. To know my dad was to love him. He would walk to the ends of the Earth for those he loved. My dad was the type of person who made you want to be a better version of yourself.
"Brownie" as most knew him was diagnosed with non small cell stage four lung cancer on April 11, 2017 after brain mets were discovered on a scan. In his short battle he continued to maintain his positive spirit and was determined to beat this horrible disease. He was taken from us entirely too soon on June 9, 2017 at the age of 56. It's now been two years. My family and I miss him more than words could ever capture. He was the greatest in all of his roles — husband, father, brother, son, uncle, friend , father in law, brother in law, and the list goes on. The one role he now has from afar is Papa. He will never be forgotten and the world is forever be a bit dimmer without him.
This team is for him and to continue the fight against the awful disease known as lung cancer so that all can be "Free to Breathe" and in hopes that nobody has to experience the grief our family has by losing someone so very important to us.
"Nothing loved is ever lost"
