2023 Free to Breathe Anywhere Walk

Do It for Betty!

Betty Gee Yee Wang, our beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend, passed away after a two year battle with lung cancer. Diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in June 2020, she fought bravely until her last breath. She grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was a child protege for anything she put her mind to, including piano. In her twenties, Betty moved to California to pursue a better life, discovered lasting friendships and found love. As a mother of two beautiful daughters, she taught them to be strong, resilient and down-to-earth.

In 2020, a lingering cough turned into chest pain, then lung cancer. The rest is history. Betty had EGFR-positive lung cancer then leptomeningeal disease. Earlier this year, we were able to raise $27,000 for EGFR-positive lung cancer research. Thank you to all who helped us raise those funds in Betty’s honor.

On Septmeber 30, LCRF’s Free to Breathe Walk will take place and we invite you to join our team to continue honoring Betty! Let’s do it for Betty!

Together, we can fund research that will change what it means to live with a lung cancer diagnosis.

Here are three ways you can join us in making this vision a reality:

• Donate to a team member to support our fundraising efforts
• Join our team
• Spread the word about our fundraising efforts by sending the link to this webpage to everyone you know

The money we raise together will support the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and its mission to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of lung cancer. Let's walk together to honor loved ones, support patients and families, and build hope for the future.
