Help me increase survival!
My team will be participating in 2019 Free to Breathe Yoga in memory of Mitch Halbrich, who lost his battle with lung cancer in November of 2016. I was first introduced to this cause as a yoga student with 108 sun salutations as a fundraiser for lung cancer research. I knew it was important and it was a great way to raise awareness and funds, but unfortunately, I was reacquainted later on in a personal way. While accompanying my boyfriend to various appointments and chemotherapy, I noticed the flyers about a yogathon to help fund lung cancer research and education. In hopes of feeling less helpless and utilizing my dedication and practice of yoga, I immediately got involved and participated in the inaugural 2016 Free to Breathe Yoga Challenge, and have been a part of the planning committee ever since. It was a wonderful experience and I and my team will again commit to 5 hours of practice on our mats in order increase lung cancer survival.
