Lung Cancer Sucks! Please help!
I will be participating in the Lung Cancer Research Foundation's Free to Breathe Yoga Event again this year to raise funds to increase the odds of surviving lung cancer. For those of you who don't know, I was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2105. I was 45 years old, super active, health conscious, a lifelong non-smoker, and a mother of three. Needless to say, I was shocked and terrified and became more so when I learned of the dismal lung cancer statistics.
- Lung cancer is the deadliest of all cancers, killing more people each year than breast, colon, and prostate cancers COMBINED.
- The five-year survival rate of those diagnosed with lung cancer is only 18%.
Today, four years later, I can gratefully say I am cancer free, due in part to an aggressive, research-based treatment plan. I often ask myself why I'm fortunate enough to be sitting here full of hope that I may have beaten this shitty disease. In lieu of an answer to that question, I've assembled a badass team, and we're going to raise lots of money for research so that more individuals can join me in calling themselves survivors. Our team is named "Sinners & Saints," because we all have a little of both in us!
Please join us in spreading hope by clicking the "Donate" button next to my name and making a donation of any amount.
Your donation will support the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and its mission to improve lung cancer outcomes by funding research for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of lung cancer.
After making your donation, would you help me with my efforts by sharing the link to my fundraising page?
