EGFR Resisters is excited to partner with Lung Cancer Research Foundation to raise funds for new EGFR-positive lung cancer research project(s). EGFR Resisters (https://egfrcancer.org) has worked since our founding in 2017 to identify gaps in research and critical needs for our patient community. We have proven the power of patient driven research and are ready to help fund more projects that will address the important questions that we face.
Thanks to you, we have met our original goal of $75,000...which will be matched by LCRF for a total of $150,000 to fund a full two-year grant specific to EGFR research! And we do not plan to stop there!!!
While we are assessing the best research project for this $150,000 grant, we want to continue our momentum to raise more funds to support more science to help all of us with EGFR+ lung cancer. Dollars raised going forward will be used to fund an additional two projects related to EGFR.
LCRF has a history of funding the best researchers in the field. Including Dr. Matthew Meyerson from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, whose early work, funded through LCRF, led his group to discover the EGFR mutations in lung cancer, setting the stage for the field of genome-targeted therapy.
Stay tuned for more announcements in November during Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Let's continue to provide support for our community through advancing research together!
