Team JPS Bubbles takes Strides to Manhattan
This year, Strides is once again going to look a tad different than the past years. Due to lingering effects of event planning due to Covid - Strides will not take place in August in Southampton. But Team JPS Bubbles has decided that we will host our own Strides for Life 3 miler in Manhattan on Sunday, August 8th.
In 2008 Team JPS (named for my late father, J. Phillip Snyder) participated in it's first Strides for Life race. We were just a small team of 3 and have now grown into something I never could have imagined.
Losing my Dad in just 6 short weeks to Lung Cancer in 2001 changed me life forever. I miss him every single day and when I found out about Strides I knew that it was the perfect way to honor him - doing something I love to raise awareness for the terrible disease that took his life.
In 2014 my dear friend Dana and her family suffered the terrible loss of "Bubbles" and I asked them to join our team. In the years since, Team JPS Bubbles has raised ~$98,000 on behalf of LCRF, raising awareness for this terrible disease. I am honored that every year my friends and family participate and donate to this cause which I hold so dear. I know the money we raise won't bring my Dad or Dana's Nannie back to us - but I can only hope that it helps to shed more light on how to cure this disease. I can only hope that one day, lung cancer will be a thing of the past. So please consider joining our team and/or making a donation. Your support means the world to me and to Team JPS Bubbles!
